I made some huge changes to this piece. NO borders. Thanks to my friends on the Quilt Art List for your critique, and thanks to the artist with the mostest, Pamela!
I look forward to your comments on the changes I made. The bottom, reflection section, has a layer of blue tulle over the quilted/thread painted flowers. I love the gradation of this grey fabric, purchased it from my friend Anita at Beatton Way. It makes a nice background for the sunflowers. I have also included a closeup of the stitching, this piece was done with WonderFil rayon.
Now, must move on to something other than sunflowers :0
Enjoy

Great! So much better.
Yes! I like this much better.
HiRhoda... I like it alot. It makes for a more cohesive piece, with the eye right on those gorgeous sunflowers. I am impressed, too, with your quilting and thread painting. I just love Wonderfil!
Hi Rhoda - This turned out beautifully. I think it is great that you turned to the QuiltArt list and got such good advice. I'll try it myself the next time something just doesn't seem quite right.
Well done!
Persistence + Pamela = Prizewinner!
Love it now!
Tulle always creates an incredible effect. I used it over a moon, and it was beautiful! Great job!
